Under The Sun is a US doom metal project of three doom legends: Dennis Cornelius (Oversoul, Memory Driven, Revelation, Place of Skulls), unexpectedly passed away this year; Dave Roman (Penance) and Mike Smail (Dream Death, Penance, Cathedral, Pentagram). Recorded 2009/2010 in Polar Bear Lair, engineered and mastered by Chris Kozlowski (RIP) ""Man of Sorrow"" brings pure doom metal sounds with emotional depth. The bands mentioned above are not accidental, as each influence can be heard on ""Man of Sorrow"". Melodic riffs, heavy sound and Dennis's soulful voice give an extraordinary effect.Â
Man of Sorrow is an exploration of the human condition, delving into themes of loneliness, existential reflection, religion. It is an emotional, personal journey through the human soul with haunting melodies and evocative lyrics that draw the listener into a world of introspection and raw honesty.
