Carcolh is a doom-metal band, based in Bordeaux and Herbignac, France, created in February 2016 by former members of Marble Chariot: Sebastien Fanton on vocals, Freddy Thomas on rhythm guitar and Quentin Aberne on bass (ex-Mercurials, ex-Svewen, ex-Hyrgal, ex-Sun Preachers).
Joined by Olivier Blanc on lead guitar (ex-Oyabun) and Benoit Senon on drums (ex-Pozor, ex-Hexenjäger), Carcolh writes its first album “Rising Sons of Saturn” during 2016 and records it at l’Atelier in Vensac, France, with Antoine Gonzalez from 10 to 12 March 2017.
Eager to perform on stage, the band takes the road for a short tour with Svewen in October 2017.
In January 2018, Carcolh signed on Emanes Metal Records for the digital and physical release (K7, CD, vinyl) of “Rising Sons of Saturn”.
Freddy Thomas left the band in February 2018, replaced by Quentin Aberne who left the position of bassist to switch to the second guitar.
Mathieu Vicens (ex-Dead Toys, Bruit, ex-Degraded) joined the band as bassist at the same time, and Carcolh initiate the writing of a new album in 2019.
After some gigs, Carcolh enter in the Heldscalla Studio with Raph Henry to record “The Life and Works of Death”, their second opus at the end of February 2020.
Hungry to spread their doom, the band signed with Sleeping Church Records in November 2020.
The Life and Works of Death, the 2nd album is released the 02.19.2021.
After the Covid's lockdown, the band had the opportunity to play with label mates Barabbas, Nornes, and Presumption.
Carcolh records its third album “Twilight Of The Mortals”, at the Heldscalla Studio again by Raph Henry during the last week of April 2024.
